Messages from the Heart

Dear Mom,

To the woman with the superpower abilities - eyes at the back of the head, the sharpest intuition (basically a prophet) and the quickest reaction time (think interception of projectile vomit).  Mom's are the pillars of strength in the eyes of their child even when the encapsulation of that is not always present - because there will be bad days.

A mother's love for a child has no boundaries.  Is it their chemical makeup or their inherent capacity to love unconditionally? Whatever it is, being a mom is the most rewarding experience and at times a humbling one especially when the phrase "I hate you" rears its ugly head.  

But then again the beauty of motherhood is seeing the ugliness of it - laughter turning into tears, delight turning into anger,  love turning into frustration.  All of these emotions are part and parcel of the journey of being a mother that is both a blessing and at times a struggle.  As a mother myself, I wouldn't have it any other way.

The word mom is a palindrome, meaning it reads the same way forward as it does backwards.  And mom turned upside down is wow! Call it coincidence but it's that serendipitous ideation that is central to being a mom, the honour it presents and the relationship that never ends.
