The Power of Love - Valentine

The Power of Love - Valentine's Day

February is the month of love by no accident as we celebrate the Feast of St. Valentine.

Whether celebrating romantic love or friendship, the Feast of Love has risen to commercial status in many countries around the world with customary gifts of flowers and confectionary delights.

But where did Valentine’s get its origins from?

The history of Valentine's Day is shrouded in mystery.  Stories abound where three different men, all with the name Valentine, suffered similar tragic stories of love and martyrdom, according to Christian and ancient Roman traditions.

It wasn't until the Middle Ages when love letters and poems became popularized, with the oldest known poem written by Charles, Duke of Orleans, to his wife, while imprisoned in the Tower of London, that greetings of love and affection became widespread.

Fast forward to today, countless movies, Hallmark cards, flowers and candies have become cultural symbols of this romantic tradition.  Whether you're a fan of the holiday or not, spreading love is contagious and something we're all in need of now more than ever.  So connect with your loved ones, live life with an open heart and let yourself fall in love over and over again.  That’s the law of attraction and the formidable power of the greatest gift of all.

           Love,

             xox
